
Job Posting: Associate Pastor (English & Youth)
Job Summary: The English/Youth Pastor will oversee and develop the English-speaking ministry and youth programs, fostering spiritual growth and discipleship while building a Christ-centered community. This role emphasizes making connections with the youth, guiding youth and their families, and extending the gospel to the local community, regardless of ethnicity. Our prayer is that the parent-youth English ministry will grow into a vibrant, multiethnic, and multigenerational ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Preach and teach the Word of God during English worship services.
- Lead Bible-based Sunday school classes for teens and adults.
- Plan and oversee youth ministry programs, including Bible studies, retreats, and fellowship activities.
- Provide pastoral care and discipleship for English-speaking members, including youth.
- Supervise youth and adult programs, partnering with the Chinese Pastor and church leadership to make disciples and pursue effective outreach and evangelism.
- Collaborate with church leadership to develop and execute vision and goals for the English and youth ministries.
- Organize outreach events to engage the surrounding community.
- Mentor and train lay leaders to serve in ministry roles.
- Promote unity within the church by facilitating communication and collaboration between the English and Chinese congregations.
Qualifications:
- A clear calling to pastoral ministry, with a heart for both the English-speaking congregation and Chinese culture.
- Strong biblical knowledge and adherence to sound doctrine.
- Previous experience in pastoral or youth ministry, preferably in a multicultural or Asian-American context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to Chinese cultural values.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field (Master of Divinity preferred), or at least two years of vocational ministry experience.
- Fluency in English (proficiency in Mandarin is a plus but not required).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
